"Winston Salem, NC—The
independent film The Moleskin Diary
will begin filming throughout downtown Winston-Salem throughout the month of
June. Zach Brown, originally from Winston-Salem, chose to come back from LA to
make this film here in Winston-Salem as the city will always be important to
him.
The
Moleskin Diary, directed by Brown, unfolds a heartwarming & powerful
story about Adrian (played by Shawn Pyfrom of Desperate Housewives) who grew
up as an orphan with his sister. As an adult he becomes a famous photographer
living a party animal lifestyle with his girlfriend Liz (played by Julia Voth). His life gets turned upside down
after the unexpected death of his sister, as he must sacrifice life as he knows
it in order to keep his 9-year old niece, Maddy (played by Hannah Stock), out of a children's home. The Moleskin Diary portrays just how far
people would really go for those they call family. Other notable characters in
the movie include Steve Winston (this character plays a role in portraying the
city of Winston-Salem in the movie!) played by Chase Fein and Sophie played by Sophie Kargman.
The film industry in Winston-Salem has continually grown and
this is another great opportunity for our city. Winston-Salem Mayor Allen
Joines stated the following on this film coming to the area, “The film industry
is a very important part of Winston Salem economic recovery. These films result
in significant spending in our local economy and help to create jobs. Winston
Salem is very honored to have this new film, The Moleskin Diary, being shot here in our community.”
