"At the Women to Women Celebration Luncheon on October 19th Greensboro Housing Coalition (GHC) was awarded a $20,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro.  This grant will fund GHC’s ongoing program that keeps families together when housing becomes an issue. This program is designed to help families that are facing possible foster care placement of their children because of parental homelessness. GHC receives clients through referrals from the Department of Social Services.

Working in partnership with Child Protective Services GHC helps the client family obtain affordable housing.

“With this generous grant we will be able to help more families in our community,” stated Executive Director Brett Byerly, “Greensboro Housing Coalition is continuously striving to empower women to achieve economic independence and that, of course, includes safe, affordable housing.”"
