"GREENSBORO, NC (July 18, 2014) – The City of Greensboro has named Jane Nickles as its new director of the information technology department. Nickles, who originally retired from the City in 2012 as Network Services Division manager, has served as interim director since February 1, 2014, replacing departing director, Darryl Jones.
Nickles began with the City in 1983 as a programmer analyst and became a GIS application developer in 1995 and database administrator in 2000 before being appointed a division manager in 2005. During her retirement, Nickles provided IT project management consulting services for project such as infrastructure upgrades, enterprise rollouts, software integration and application development services for web-based systems and database design.
“Jane’s experience with the City and her knowledge of our operations made her the perfect candidate to fill this role,” says City Manager Jim Westmoreland. “I am confident that Jane will continue to serve us well and continue to enhance the IT department.”"
