Flooding reported in Greensboro
Water that spilled over the banks of South Buffalo Creeks laps the skirting of the house in Village Park, a manufactured home community on Creek Ridge Road in south Greensboro, that Dulce Trejo shares with her husband and three children. Trejo said the water reached the house at 9 a.m. this morning. The water had also reached three other houses in the predominantly Hispanic community.
Trejo said the family planned to stay with her sister temporarily.
City officials announced around 10:30 a.m. that the fire department was assisting residents on Creek Ridge Road whose homes were at risk of flooding. The city reported that homes were flooding in the Latham Park neighborhood and on Murrayhill Road, and that residents of Maplewood Lane Apartments were being asked to move to higher ground.
