NC Senate committee appointments

NC Senate President Pro Tem Marc Basnight announced committee appointments yesterday.

Sen. Linda Garrou (D-Forsyth) was reappointed co-chair of Appropriations/Base Budget. Sen. Peter Brunstetter (R-Forsyth) was appointed vice-chair of Judiciary I, while freshman Sen. Don Vaughan (D-Guilford) was appointed vice-chair of Judiciary II. Sen. Katie Dorsett (D-Guilford) was appointed co-chair of the Select Committee on Energy, Science and Technology.

Other appointments:

• Garrou, as vice-chair of Pensions, Retirement & Aging, member of Commerce, member of Education/Higher Education and member of Finance;
• Brunstetter, as member of Appropriations/Base Budget, member of Appropriations on Justice and Public Safety, member of Commerce and member of Healthcare;
• Dorsett, as vice-chair of Education/Higher Education, vice-chair of Healthcare, member of Appropriations/Base Budget, co-chair of Appropriations on General Government and Information Technology, member of Commerce, member of Judiciary II, member of Pensions, Retirement & Aging and member of Rules and Operations of the Senate;
• Vaughan, as member of Appropriations/Base Budget, member of Appropriations on Education/Higher Education, member of Commerce, member of Transportation and member of the Select Committee on Energy, Science and Technology.
