Dan Maxson, administrative services coordinator with the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department has announced that Bryan Park will host the 2010 Public Links Championship. “For those golf nuts out there, you’ll know that Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson play in these kind of events,” he told the city council on March 17. “These are the best amateur golfers in the country. So it’s really a big event for the city of Greensboro.” District 4 Councilman Mike Barber rejoined: “That public links championship covered by the Golf Channel, ten years ago, similar Golf Channel coverage of the Nike Greensboro Open was valued at over $2 million.
