Pace Airlines CEO William Charles Rodgers made his first appearance in Courtroom 3B of the Forsyth County Hall of Justice on Sept. 24 after being arrested by NC Insurance Department investigators and charged with insurance fraud.
Rodgers was arrested by the department’s investigators at Piedmont Triad International Airport on Sept. 23 and charged with one count of willful failure to pay group health insurance premiums.
State investigators allege that Rodgers terminated his employee group health insurance without providing the required 45-day notice to his 337 employees, according a press release issued by NC Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin.
Founded in 1996, Pace Airlines operates executive passenger and sports flight charters out of its home base at Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem. An informational meeting for Pace Airlines employees is scheduled for Sept. 29 at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
