Mikel Barton's documentary of a February 2009 delegation of North Carolinians to the Mexican state of Oaxaca is posted in six YouTube segments at the Roots of Migration blog. "Roots of Migration" was the name of the delegation, and naturally Mikel and I appropriated it respectively for the documentary and the blog. As a participant in the delegation I have a couple talking head segments in the documentary.

I went to Oaxaca two summers ago with Witness for Peace to learn about the Oaxaca Rebellion, grassroots organizing, NAFTA, and fair trade coffee. It was an excellent trip and Oaxaca is an absolutely beautiful place.
Unfortunately, the government there is incredibly corrupt and the movement for direct democracy has largely been crushed there.
