Press release after the jump:
Committee to Elect C. Bradley Hunt II
For Immediate Release: C. Bradley Hunt II says he will be the new voice of District 2.
C. Bradley Hunt II would like to announce his candidacy to be the voice of District 2 in the upcoming Greensboro City Council race. C. Bradley Hunt II is a lifelong resident of Greensboro, and is known within the community as a community activist. Hunt is a senior political science major at North Carolina A&T and a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church.
When asked why he decided to run Hunt stated, "I believe that the time has come for District 2 to have a representative with conviction that does not waiver. Our current leadership, whether he means well or not, does not have the strong voice we need for a community that is constantly left out and under attack like District 2. When elected I think it is imperative that the council, mayor and the citizens of Greensboro understand that our community will no longer take a back seat to economic development, crime and justice, and education. It is also important to let everyone know that under no circumstances will we allow the re-opening of the White Street landfill, that conversation is a non starter and there is no room for compromise."

UPDATE: Eric Ginsburg reminds me that Bradley Hunt was among five people in the Spirit of the Sit-In Movement who got arrested in a coordinated act of civil disobedience for taking over the dais at city council in May 2010.

To clarify, I am pretty sure only four people were arrested that day. Here is the video of the action, where you can hear C. Bradley Hunt II bang the gavel, introduce himself, and begin reading a statement.
