The Salvation Army International Boys and Girls Club on New Walkertown Road in Winston-Salem is holding a community day gathering today. The garden club showed off its enclosed, self-watering garden. The Winston-Salem Fire Department gave youngsters tours of one of its trucks, and the Winston-Salem Transit Authority gave out information about services. Children redeemed vouchers for cotton candy and funnel cakes. And vendors such as Food Lion and High Point Clinical Trials Center pitched made their pitches.
