Free Commuter Dash 5K Triad Commute Challenge 2014

The Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART) and Triad Air Awareness invite you to participate in the FREE Commuter Dash 5K race / walk event to kick-off the 8th Annual Triad Commute Challenge.

This year the Commuter Dash will be held on April 5th at 9AM. The starting point for the Commuter Dash will be the Leonard Recreation Center. This USA Track & Field Certified 5K will be an out and back course following the Bicentennial Greenway south to Friendly Avenue and return to the Leonard Recreation Center.

All participants will be entered into prize drawings courtesy of our sponsors with special prizes awarded to the top three male and female finishers!

FREE registration is now open to those 16 and older who pledge to try an alternative commute option like biking, walking, carpooling, vanpooling, telecommuting or riding the bus at least once between April 5th-July 5th.  To register, visit www.triadcommutechallenge.com.

Last year over 6,000 took the pledge. As a result this challenge decreased the vehicle miles traveled in the Piedmont Triad by 4.1 million miles which translates into an emissions reduction of 2,700 tons and a savings of more than $704,000 in fuel. Sharing the ride means not only cleaner air but also a healthier community and a more vibrant economy.  Visit our website at www.triadcommutechallenge.com or call 336-291-4321 to find out more information about this challenge.
