Ham's Lakeside closing, owner Scarfone reports

In a release to the media, Ham's Restaurants President Rocco Scarfone announced that:
“After many months of negotiations, unfortunately we have not been able to secure a lease to continue operating the Ham's Lakeside Restaurant at it's current location.
We appreciate your business and we have enjoyed having you as our guest and making great memories over these past years. Please come and see us at one of our newest and closest locations either at 324 South Elm Street in Downtown Greensboro or at the New Garden Crossing Shopping Center at Bryan Blvd and New Garden Rd.
We hope to see you there or at another one of our area Ham's Restaurants soon!”
Over the past two years, Ham's Restaurants have undergone extensive interior renovations, including adding more high definition televisions, advanced sound systems, exciting food menu items, and expanded craft beer selections – all designed to continue to make Ham's the first choice for enjoying great food at affordable prices, watching a game, or listening to live music.
Within the past eighteen months, Ham's opened its newest location at 324 South Elm St. in downtown
Greensboro. This location features a pleasant outdoor patio and has been a great addition to all the wonderful shops and restaurants in the downtown area. Ham's has also opened the Crown Room on the second floor right above the Downtown Ham's. This is a private, 90-person capacity dining and bar area with floor-to-ceiling window views of downtown – perfect for parties and other functions. The downtown Ham's opened less than a year after the very successful launch of the popular Ham's Restaurant at the New Garden Crossing Shopping Center.
Scarfone stated that “we are continuing to actively scout and evaluate new locations for expansion of the Ham's Restaurant brand.”
This spring, guests can look forward to the addition of Ham's Country Classic home-style menu featuring fried chicken, catfish, and other home-style favorites. Ham's is also bringing back some old classics and will be starting the Wednesday Steak Night Special, featuring a delicious char-grilled steak and side items for only $9.99.
On March 15, Ham's is proud to sponsor, along with the City of Greensboro, the “Tournament Town Downtown Concert” held in conjunction with the ACC Tournament, with a portion of the proceeds going to non-profit groups in the community. This event features a free outdoor concert by popular singer Eddie Money as well as food and outdoor beer gardens, and gives us a chance to show all of our out-of-town guests a great time in “Tournament Town.”
Ham's is preparing for another great outdoor summer concert season and looks forward to continuing to stage great events that make Ham's the place where “It's Always a Good Time.”
