Novant Health to hold Second Annual Strike Out Seizures softball tournament Last year’s event raised $3,000 to help epilepsy patients buy medications


"The second annual Strike Out Seizures charity softball tournament supporting the North Carolina Epilepsy Foundation. This double-elimination tournament, sponsored by Novant Health Stroke and Neurosciences, will feature divisions for men’s teams as well as co-ed teams. All proceeds will benefit Triad-area epilepsy patients.

Why: Nearly 12,000 North Carolinians are living with epilepsy, a neurological condition most often characterized by seizures. Medications can usually control epilepsy symptoms, but these life-saving drugs can cost hundreds of dollars. The North Carolina Epilepsy Foundation assists patients who need help paying for medications.

When: Friday, March 21, 6:30-10 p.m.; Saturday, March 22, 8 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.; Sunday, March 23, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Where: Opening rounds will be held at Washington Park, 1098 Washington Park Lane, in Winston-Salem. The championship games will be held at BB&T Ballpark (DASH stadium), 951 Ballpark Way, in Winston-Salem (championship games 1-5 p.m.).
