Faux Insurance Salesman pulls gun, forces way into home and ties up and robs occupants


"June 14 at  8:37 p.m. officers from the Greensboro Police Department responded to 1930 Lynette Dr. in reference to an assault.  Officers learned that a white-male wearing a red shirt knocked on the front door claiming he was selling insurance.  The suspect brandished a long gun forced his way inside the residence and struck the adult female victim with the firearm then tied her and her husband up.  The suspect then took some personal property and the victim’s brown in color 2003 Ford Explorer.
The victims were treated by EMS for non-life threatening injuries.  The investigation is ongoing.
Southern Division Patrol Officers, K9, CID and CSI responded to this incident.

Greensboro, NC (June 14, 2014) -- At 8:37 p.m. on 6.14.2014—Police responded to 1930 Lynette Drive in reference to an assault.  Officers learned that a white-male wearing a red shirt knocked on the front door claiming he was selling insurance.  The suspect brandished a long gun forced his way inside the residence and struck the adult female victim with the firearm then tied her and her husband up.  The suspect then took some personal property and the victim’s brown in color 2003 Ford Explorer.

The victims were treated by EMS for non-life threatening injuries.  The investigation is ongoing.
