"Since 2009, the Art Lives Here Silent Auction has become a tradition of giving for many local and regional artists. Works in diverse media are donated for auction in support of Hirsch Wellness creative arts and wellness programs supporting the emotional needs of cancer survivors and caregivers in the Greater Greensboro area.
On Thursday September 11th from 6-8:30pm, Elm Street Center comes alive with food, beverages, live music and friends for an evening of viewing art, silent bidding and connecting with the artists. One Hundred Percent (100%) of funds raised at auction go directly to Hirsch Wellness programs taught by local artists.
At our 2014 Event, iconic Greensboro artist and designer David Gibbs will be recognized as our featured artist, exhibiting his recent woodturnings. David and his wife Lynn have played an instrumental role in building Hirsch Wellness into the cancer support community it is today. This exhibition celebrates his art, survivorship and commitment to supporting the healing arts.
Hirsch Wellness receives tremendous support from artists near and far who understand the power of the
creative process as a means to self-expression. Art Lives Here garners works from diverse media including: pottery, fiber, jewelry, painting, sculpture, woodworking and more; with 80 plus artists expected to donate works for bidding. Art Lives Here is supported by area restaurants and businesses, individual donors and sponsors, Hirsch Wellness Network is a 501(c)3 nonprofit cancer support community dedicated to serving the emotional needs of individuals touched by a cancer diagnosis.
