Cam Newton on the bench for Carolina, the Bills
defeated the Carolina Panthers 20-18 Friday night in Charlotte.
Panther Coach Ron Rivera held out the Pro Bowl quarterback to rest his ankle after
offseason surgery. Rivera told reporters that he expects Newton to play against
Kansas City Aug. 17.
