"GREENSBORO, NC (May 22, 2015) – A Winston-Salem man who was being monitored while awaiting trial for two previous robbery arrests was taken into police custody yesterday evening after investigation linked him to another robbery.
David Eugene Norman, Jr., 30, was arrested by the Greensboro Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team approximately 15 hours after he allegedly robbed the Family Fare at 2300 E. Market Street at 2:10 am on May 21.
According to the convenience store clerk, Norman reached into the register as she was ringing up the sale of his soft drink and took money out of the till.
Detectives were able to connect Norman to the crime through witnesses, video, and Crime Stoppers tips. As a result, he is charged with Common Law Robbery.
The modus operandi for the robbery of the Family Fare matched the two previous robberies for which Norman was arrested. Norman is accused of robbing the C&C Market at 2800 Lawndale Drive on Nov. 8, 2014, and the CITGO station on 5511 W. Friendly Ave. on Nov. 11, 2014. In both instances, witnesses reported that the suspect reached into the cash register till and took money after pretending to pay for candy. In the robbery of the C&C Market, the clerk reported seeing a handgun.
No one was injured in any of the three robberies.
Norman is confined in the Greensboro Jail Central on multiple bonds."
