Blandwood Carriage House Hosts First Bridal Vendor Show

"GREENSBORO, NC — On Thursday, July 23rd between 5-9pm, the grounds of Blandwood Mansion and Carriage House, 447 West Washington Street in downtown Greensboro, will host their first showcase of bridal vendors that will make your upcoming nuptials unique, creative and HISTORIC!

Entry to this event on the National Historic Landmark site of Governor John Motley Morehead’s Blandwood is FREE and open to the public.  Blandwood parking is located at the corner of Blandwood Avenue and West McGee Street.  On street parking is also available.

The latest trend in weddings has been to have these celebratory events associated with historical properties following the romantic lines of recent historic movies and television dramas.  Couples, their wedding party, families and friends are invited to visit during the evening to experience the exceptional local bridal vendors’ wares and items at this downtown historic landmark that can make their upcoming events unique, personal and tailored to their dream day!  The show offers caterers’ sampling, mock-tails, giveaways and drawings for items the prospective couple may want.  Gift bags to participants will be given to the first 100 guests!

Blandwood Carriage House Manager Amanda Garner encourages, “We are excited to host our first of many wedding vendor shows that will specialize in showcasing our local vendors and highlight the Blandwood Carriage House.”

Preservation Greensboro Executive Director Benjamin Briggs comments, “The Carriage House at Blandwood is the only special events space in Guilford County that enjoys National Historic Landmark designation.  The nearby mansion and gardens provide a one-of-a-kind backdrop for receptions and meetings and it is all in the heart of downtown Greensboro!”  The Blandwood Mansion and Blandwood Carriage House are owned and operated by Preservation Greensboro.
The Carriage House is a distinctive two story rental pavilion located on the grounds of historic Blandwood Mansion. Two spacious rooms, one on each level, an outdoor patio and beautiful grounds make this an elegant location for your wedding, reception, corporate meeting or other special occasion.
With diverse initiatives such as Blandwood Museum and Museum Shop,  and Carriage House, Architectural Salvage of Greensboro and its retail showroom, Preservation Greensboro Development Fund, and educational events, Preservation Greensboro provides a constant voice in the community for revitalization efforts, an improved local economy and quality of life, and the conservation of historic resources for future generations.
