Greensboro College Names Caryn Atwater Director of Career and Personal Development

"GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro College has named Caryn Atwater Director of Career and Personal Development.

She comes to Greensboro College from N.C. A&T State University, where she had been a lecturer and academic advisor for the Center for Academic Excellence since 2008.

Prior to that, she had worked as an honors-college program advisor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, manager of the business honors program and a career counselor at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and a high-school school-to-career consultant in New Hampshire.

She holds a B.S. in marketing from Long Island University/C.W. Post and a master's in early modern European history from Tufts University. She also holds graduate certification from N.C. State University in online teaching and designing instructional systems.

Greensboro College provides a liberal-arts education grounded in the traditions of the United Methodist Church and fosters the intellectual, social, and, spiritual development of all students while supporting their individual needs.


Founded in 1838 and located near downtown Greensboro, the college enrolls about 1,150 students from 26 states, the District of Columbia and 10 nations in its undergraduate liberal-arts program and four master's degree programs. In addition to rigorous academics and a well-supported Honors program, the school features a 17-sport NCAA Division III athletic program and dozens of service and recreational opportunities."
