McDonald’s Sponsors Local FFA Concert with Chris Lane and Old Southern Moonshine Revival

Triad McDonald’s and the Guilford County FFA Alumni Association are teaming up for a concert with Chris Lane and special guest Old Southern Moonshine Revival band on Oct. 10 at Southern Guilford High School’s Football Stadium, 5700 Drake Rd., Greensboro. Tickets are $10-$20 at the door, cash only.  Proceeds from the concert will benefit FFA student members.

The concert is a joint event with Southeast and Southern Guilford High Schools’ chapters. Up to 4,000 people are expected to attend the concert, which the FFA hopes to make an annual event.  Chris Lane and Old Southern Moonshine Revival (or OSMR to their fans) are North Carolina-based musicians gaining national attention and an increasing fan base, especially with their teenage fans.

Triad McDonald’s restaurant owner and operator and Southeast FFA Alumni Johnny Tart says “Both myself and my daughter Courtney (a second generation McDonald’s owner and operator) attended Southeast High School and were members of the FFA.”

Tart continued “We support the FFA because we depend on local suppliers & farmers for our 91 restaurants in the Triad. This concert is an excellent opportunity for us both personally and professionally to support the organization. The Triad restaurants strive to use as many North Carolina and regional food sources as possible.”

In 2013, McDonald’s U.S. operations purchased more than 18 million pounds of beef, 20 million pounds of chicken, 63 million pounds of pork and 48 million pounds of flour from North Carolina suppliers.
