"Rebecca Bilello with the Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers Association was awarded the North Carolina Crime Stoppers Association 2014 Board Member of the Year Award at the association’s yearly training conference last month.
Bilello, who is the association’s treasurer, was selected based on her selfless devotion, persistent service, and significant contributions to the Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers program and the community. In addition to volunteering for the Crime Stoppers Board, managing the financial accounts, and serving on several Crime Stoppers committees, Bilello volunteered her time for Special Olympics events and the annual Police Week 5K run.
Bilello has dedicated her work efforts to the Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers for the last four years and has demonstrated a spirit of community and cooperation while working hand in hand with law enforcement.
Crime Stoppers is a community policing program that brings together components of law enforcement, the community, and the media to solve crime. The program represents a unique partnership formed for a common cause; the safety, security and protection against theft and crime for the residents and citizens of Greensboro and Guilford County. The North Carolina Crime Stoppers Association, Inc. was formed in 1991 as an umbrella organization for Crime Stoppers programs in our state. The assocation’s mission is to further the goals of Crime Stoppers programs through annual training seminars which focus on fund-raising, promotion and operation of individual programs."
