Police Issue Precaution about Possible Child Pornographer

Randolph Milton Williams
"GREENSBORO, NC (June 3, 2016) – Greensboro detectives are warning the public about the possibility that a local magician may be involved in child pornography. Police stress that this warning is issued as a precaution in the interest of protecting children, and that the man under investigation has not been charged with these offenses yet.

Yesterday, detectives served a search warrant at 1036 Hill St. after receiving a credible anonymous tip that Randolph Milton Williams, 64, was allegedly downloading pornographic images of children from the internet. A search of Williams’ residence resulted in detectives seizing his computer and a vast collection of videos and disks suspected to contain explicit sexual images of underage children.

Detectives are in the early stages of examining the material to determine the extent of Williams’ involvement in the pornography. At this point, detectives cannot determine whether or not Williams was manufacturing pornography, or viewing existing images.

While searching the home, detectives also found items indicating that Williams may freelance as a children’s’ entertainer by performing magic tricks and telling jokes. He may use the name of “Mr. Funny”.

Some illegal narcotics were also located in the home. Williams was charged with Maintaining a Dwelling for Unlawfully Keeping or Selling a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was processed and released from the Guilford County Jail on a written promise to appear in court.

Because of Williams’ involvement with child pornography, and the possibility that he may be in contact with children as part of his freelance work, police are issuing a precautionary warning to anyone who may have hired him to perform at a youth event.

Anyone with information about Williams’ involvement in child pornography, or anyone who has concerns about his conduct around children, is asked to call Det. Flinchum at 336-574-4006."
