SYNERG YOUNG PROFESSIONALS SEEK EMERGING ARTIST OR ARTIST TEAMS FOR PUBLIC ART PIECE IN GREENSBORO

"GREENSBORO, N.C. (June 21, 2016) synerG and Action Greensboro seek emerging artist or artist teams to design, fabricate and install a signature public art piece in Greensboro. The objective of this RFP is to obtain an artist or artist team able to provide a creative, fun, funky and innovative public art piece to be installed in Greensboro by October 12, 2016.

synerG prides itself on being nimble and able to adapt to the ever changing needs of young people in Greensboro. This public art project is a result of the 2016 project survey asking synerG members what they would like to see the organization focus on in 2016, public art being at top priority. “Public art inspires a sense of wonder, of curiosity and activities your imagination.” says Spencer Conover, synerG public art committee co-chair. “I think young people have experienced art in other communities and it really leaves a lasting impression and lasting memory of a community and a place. That’s what we want to do in Greensboro.”

Through the synerG budget and fundraising efforts, synerG has put together a modest budget of $4,500 to help support an emerging artist(s) who currently resides or has lived in North Carolina. synerG public art committee members will determine which of the proposals is the best fit for young professionals in Greensboro and enhances the visual experience for all of its citizens.
