1st Annual Matthews Chamber Fallfest CRAFT BEER CRAWL & CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT

"Matthews, NC – August 11, 2016 – Presented by the Matthews Chamber of Commerce and Harley-Davidson of Charlotte, the first annual Matthews Chamber Fallfest will happen on October 22, 2016 at the location of Harley-Davidson of Charlotte at 9205 E. Independence Blvd, Matthews, NC. This inaugural event will have unlimited craft beer tastings for those 21 years and older, live music, food vendors, craft vendors and an ACA regulation style cornhole tournament for those 18 years and older. VIP and General Admission Tickets for the craft beer tasting can be purchased through the website www.eventbrite.com and cornhole teams can register online at www.matthewschamber.org or by calling 704-847-3649.

This festival is dedicated to serving only craft beer, so only brewers that meet the Brewers Association definition of craft beer will be showcased. A portion of proceeds from the event will go towards Matthews Free Medical Clinic. Matthews Free Medical Clinic is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corp. that provides free, quality healthcare to low income, uninsured patients of Matthews, NC and surrounding areas, including Mecklenburg and Union Counties.

“This will not only be a signature event for Matthews, but also for the southeast area of Charlotte. Nothing like this has been done on this side of town before. With Charlotte Oktoberfest being cancelled this year, we expect to see some bigger numbers than we originally thought. We are definitely ready for it and excited for it!” says Rob Jacik, owner of Carolina Beer Temple, and Vice-President of the Matthews Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
