A week of family friendly dance related programs is scheduled August 4th through August 9th at the High Point Public Library (901 North Main Street, High Point). The second annual summer Dance Week at the Library is supported and sponsored by Friends of High Point Public Library. The programs are intended for children but adults are welcome to attend.
Monday August 4th – Suah African Dance Theater will open Dance Week at the Library with their high energy drumming and dancing. Suah will perform at 11:00 am at Oakview Recreation Center (503 James Road, High Point) and again at the High Point Public Library at 6:30.
Tuesday August 5th we will feature Native American dancers from the Lumbee tribe. The program will be held in the High Point Public Library storyroom at 6:30.
Wednesday August 6th – we are showing the movie An American Girl: Isabella Dances into the Spotlight. The movie will begin at 2:00 in the library storyroom.
Thursday August 7th – We are very excited to bring the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble to High Point (http://www.ncyte.org/) . The performers will be putting on a full dance program at the Oakview Recreation Center at 11:00. They will also do a tap demonstration in the library storyroom at 4:00.
Friday August 8th – A dance related craft program will be held in the library storyroom at 3:00. This program is for school age children.
Saturday August 9th – We are featuring the movie The Game Plan in the storyroom at 2:00.
