The observer effect

Man have I been slouching on posting to this thing. Between Brian's vacation last week and the election onslaught, I haven't really had a lot of time. An interesting little story came down the pike this week...

I received a call from a man on Monday who was unhappy that the city had been dumping construction debris in Lake Daniel Park -- right across from his parents' house. Not exactly Pulitzer material, but I decided to look into it. After a few calls, the city assured me it was cleaning up the mess. Sure enough, the next day they hauled away the rubble. I don't know for certain that my intervention sped the city along.
Either way, the family was happy. But I ended up killing a nice little grievance piece.
