Blake awaits termination decision

AJ Blake is awaiting a decision tonight on whether he'll keep his job as a Greensboro police officer. Blake faced an administrative hearing on July 17, and expects to hear the decision from administration tomorrow. On July 16, supporters such as Wesley Morris (see video), an organizer with the Beloved Community Center, gathered in front of the police department in a demonstration of support. Supporters asked why the police department insisted on holding the termination hearing before Blake's criminal case is resolved. Blake was convicted of two counts of assaulting a female. He appealed the convictions, and is scheduled to be in superior court on July 27.
