Dorsett withdraws from NC Senate 28 race

Democratic incumbent Katie Dorsett withdrew from the NC Senate District 28 race at about 11:30 a.m. at the Guilford County Board of Elections, a source from that office says.

Republican Trudy Wade filed for the seat early this morning in High Point. Wade, who currently serves on the Greensboro City Council and is a former Guilford County commissioner, is a client of political consultant Bill Burckley. Two other Republican candidates have also filed: Robert Brafford Jr. and Jeffrey A. Brommer, both of Jamestown.

Two Democrats have filed for the seat: Evelyn Miller, a member of the Greensboro Zoning Commission, and Gladys A. Robinson of Pleasant Garden.
