"(Greensboro, NC) – NASCAR legend Richard Petty,
Carolina Panthers Head Coach Ron Rivera, and a host of other celebrities will
participate in Ricky Proehl's Celebrity Golf Classic next month.
Petty and other notables will attend the Pairings
Party at the Proximity Hotel on Thursday evening, June 4th, while Rivera
and dozens of Panthers players and coaches will hit the links on Friday,
June 5th. The Celebrity Golf Classic raises money to support
Proehl's P.O.W.E.R. of Play Foundation. The Foundation
works with groups like Guilford County’s social services, the Children’s Home
Society and local churches to reach at-risk children in our community. “We know
that mentoring children keeps them away from drugs and alcohol and keeps them
out of trouble. It is our honor to be able to touch the lives of children and
have the opportunity to let them know that we care. We hope that love gives
them the courage to dream big and reach their full potential”, says Proehl. “The
core value of our program is Play, Opportunity, Work, Excellence and Respect.”
This year's Celebrity Golf Classic will be held
at Greensboro Country Club’s Farm course. Hutchinson Family Office, a full
service wealth management firm, is the presenting sponsor of the
event. "We've been so touched by the work Ricky has done with young
people over the past few years, that we wanted to be involved in this special
fund raising event," said Steve Hutchinson, founder and CEO.
