"On Oct. 17 at 10:39pm, officers with the
Winston-Salem Police Department responded to 612 Waughtown St. in Winston Salen on a reported
Armed Robbery. The investigation revealed that at black male, about 5'10", wearing a black hoodies, black pants and a black ski mask walked into
the Maymar Supermarket armed with a handgun.
The suspect, beleived to be between 20-25 years of age, forced the clerk to open the
register by gun point. The suspects took a number of cartons of cigarettes and
an undetermined amount of money. The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown
direction. There was no one injured during this incident.
This investigation has been
referred to the Criminal Investigation Division.
