Arrest made in robbery of cab driver

Incident 1

At approximately 3:28 a.m. Nov. 9,  a cab was dispatched to 6116 University Parkway after a call was received requesting transport.  This dispatch location is the parking lot of a business that was closed at the time the call was received.  The cab was being driven by Matar Fall.

When Mr. Fall arrived, he was met by two black males.  One of the males confronted Mr. Fall with what appeared to be a handgun and the two suspects then proceeded to rob him of his wallet and its contents.  Mr. Fall was not injured during the incident and the matter has been under investigation by authorities with the Winston-Salem Police Department since it occurred.

At approximately 2:12 a.m. Nov. 11, a different cab company received a call for service and dispatched a cab to 6116 University Parkway.  The cab was being driven by Brannon L. Eaton. 

When Mr. Eaton arrived, he was met by three males.  One of the males confronted Mr. Eaton with what appeared to be a handgun and the three suspects then proceeded to rob him of his cellphone and currency.  Mr. Eaton was not injured during the incident and the matter has been under investigation by authorities with the Winston-Salem Police Department since it occurred. 

On Nov. 20, authorities charged twenty-two year old Devonte Peter Lewis Daily with Common Law Robbery in connection with the robbery of Brannon L. Eaton.    At the time of this Public Record Release, a bond and court date had yet to be set in this matter.  For investigative reasons, a booking photograph will not be released at this time.
