Ricky Skaggs with Kentucky Thunder to Headline 2016 LandJam


             "GREENSBORO, NC – Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder will headline the 8th annual Piedmont Land Conservancy’s LandJam, October 14th at the historic Carolina Theatre in downtown Greensboro.  The opening act will feature the Jon Stickley Trio, an up-and-coming band with strong Greensboro ties. Proceeds from the event will benefit PLC’s land conservation efforts in the North Carolina Piedmont.
            Skaggs’s career has overlapped with several musical genres including gospel, bluegrass and country.  The 14-time Grammy Award winner is widely known for being a musical innovator that continues to forge ahead with new ideas.  Stickley is an emerging artist who credits Piedmont resident Tony Rice as one of the most important influences in his rising musical career.

All proceeds from the LandJam will go to benefit Piedmont Land Conservancy in securing and protecting more natural heritage in the Piedmont area. The concert will be held at 8:00 on Friday,
