This year's Tax Day Tea Party rally in Greensboro was the occasion for a speech by Wake County School Board member John Tedesco, an announced bid for office by Jeremy Williams and outrage at Guilford County Manager Brenda Jones Fox's proposal to raise the property tax rate. Police estimated the crowd size at the rally, which was organized by Conservatives for Guilford County, at between 250 to 300, a significant down-tick from last year's event. Not a very big crowd. Maybe people are realizing that the Tea Party's agenda will destroy our democracy. Conservatives are, perhaps unwittingly, promoting legislation that will lead to our nation's complete destruction and usher in decades of poverty for all but the super rich. It's a most perverted form of patriotism.
