"The High Point Arts Council has finished its outdoor arts programs this summer, the Arts Splash concerts and the Day in the Park festival, and now moves indoors for its Arts & Entertainment series at the Centennial Station Arts Center!
It kicks off this fall with the Third Thursdays concerts that will be held each month, October through May, and features local musicians and songwriters. Concerts are 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. with a $7 cover charge and a cash bar. Concert goers are encouraged to come early and buy dinner from the Tipsy's Food Truck that will be on site before the concerts.
On October 16, Michael Cosner, a Trinity native will share his straight-up country songs with friends of the Arts Council. His original songs include "Kickin' It Down the Road, "Dogs Love to Ride, and "Stay Country." Come see and hear this rising country star in High Point while you can!
"Cosner’s vocal chops will never be in question. His range is superb, falling somewhere between a George Strait baritone and a Josh Turner bass, with a bit of Gene Watson tenor thrown in. And with his rugged good looks, a sincere demeanor, and a satchel full of quality original material, he looks like a star just waiting to happen." - Ogi Overman, Jamestown News
Upcoming Third Thursdays include The Bad Raccoons playing bluegrass in November and Nobody's Business playing holiday jazz in December.
In addition to the Third Thursdays concerts, the Arts Council will be presenting special holiday events as part of the Centennial Station A&E Series. On Friday, October 31, be prepared to be scared at the All Hallows Eve Masquerade Party from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. There will be treats, dancing to the tunes of DJ Andrew Larsson, and costume contests for Best Couple, Best Female, Best Male, and Most Original.
Tickets to the All Hallows Eve Masquerade are $15 per person plus a cash bar. Tables of 8 may be reserved for $120. For tickets, call 336-889-2787 ext. 21 or visit the Centennial Station Arts Center, 121 S. Centennial Street, High Point, NC 27260.
Save the dates of December 31 for a New Year's Eve Party, January 31 for a Line Dance Social, and February 14 for an Evening of Romance ... join us in downtown High Point for arts and entertainment at the Centennial Station Arts Center!"
