"GREENSBORO, NC (Dec. 9, 2015) – Greensboro detectives are now able to confirm that one of the two victims from today’s shooting at the 3300 block of Beck St. is deceased.
Jay Lavorse Allen, 30, of 1905 Finley St. was found with fatal gunshot wounds at approximately 1:30 pm today. His body was located in a vehicle that had rolled down a nearby embankment.
The other shooting victim, Keith Delfonne Womack, 34, no permanent address, was transported to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment for life-threatening wounds.
Officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Beck St. at 1:23 pm after GM911 received several calls reporting a drive-by shooting. Callers reported seeing a white newer model four-door car with several occupants at the time of the shooting. The vehicle and its occupants then fled the area.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Allen was the intended target in the shooting, which police believe is not random. Womack’s involvement in the incident remains unclear at this point.
Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and pursuing leads.
